54-year-old Dave Ashford explains the misery of being put up for adoption by his own mother. The fact that he was a baby made things easier as he didn’t have to go through as much pain as a child with great understanding had to. But again, things weren’t easy for him.
When Dave found out how he actually had sisters that he never met, it baffled him with the curiosity and urge to find them. According to news reports, it was like a gift sent from God. And that family reunion was beyond any words could possibly describe. After meeting one another, it took the siblings just a split second to realize how close they were, despite being so apart. They were all so similar and instantly caught on to each other’s vibes as if they knew one another for years.
Dave talks about how shocked and sad he felt, after finding out how his mum received an ultimatum in 1966. It mentioned that she would have to give up her newborn son or face losing Dave and her daughter Nicki together to social services. And it was probably one of the most daunting decisions for any parent to ever face.

While his mom fought hard till the end, she had no choice but to him up for adoption. She died in a tragic car accident, 15 years ago, and that meant she could never meet Dave again. But his sisters longer for their brother and their efforts proved fruitful in the end.
Dave was raised in a fun, loving, and caring household. But when he recalls the challenges his mother faced, it always brings great tears to his eyes.
