A woman is going viral for purchasing a winning lottery ticket for her nephew and then asking for her share.
While winning lotteries is a once in a blue moon sort of scenario, there are those who are born lucky. For this reason, one aunt couldn’t help herself from showing a little greed.
The woman explains how she bought the winning ticket as a gift for her younger nephew. However, little did she know that it would actually go on towards making him a lot of cash. Moreover, she explains how her own dream was swiftly ripped apart when the incident took place.
In the most heartwrenching update, the woman explains how she asked her nephew whether or not he was willing to share some of his winnings with her. Unfortunately, the response she got wasn’t quite what she expected.
Furthermore, she reveals how she was immediately blocked and told by his sister to remove any hopes of getting a share. The unfortunate news comes at a time when the woman was going through a major financial crisis.
“I recently lost my job and struggle to pay my bills,” she explains. At the same time, there are occasions where she isn’t even sure about where her very next meal will actually come from. On the other hand, she goes on to say how her nephew belongs to a well off family, supported with a college fund too.
The woman decided to take her rant up to a public forum on Reddit and ask others for their opinion on the matter. Therefore, her motivation behind doing so was to figure out where she stands and if she’s wrong for doing so.
“ I scraped through whatever change amount that I could find, just so I could get him a few lottery scratchers for his birthday,” she explains. And the fact that he would actually go on winning is something that blew her mind.
Describing the entire scenario on the forum, she anxiously awaited people’s responses. And in the end, there were plenty of people who blasted her for obvious reasons. Meanwhile, it wasn’t uncommon to find so many others expressing how they felt she didn’t deserve any of the cash.
