The baby, Isabela Pereira de Jesus was born in the afternoon of February 13 via Caesarean section at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It is a routine for doctors to encourage babies cry after birth, to see if the baby’s lungs are working just fine.

However, when Isabela’s doctor attempted her to make her cry, the baby is clearly “not amused.”

The mother, Daiane de Jesus Barbosa hired Rodrigo Kunstmann, a local professional photographer to capture Isabela’s birth, and he was able to capture the baby’s hysterically funny yet adorable expression.

The photographer recounted that when the obstetrician asked the baby to let out her first cry before she cuts off the umbilical cord.

Kunstmann said in an interview that Isabela “opened her eyes wide, but did not cry.”

The doctor even encouraged baby Isabela by telling her, “cry, Isa!”

Instead, she gave the doctor a particularly unforgettable, unimpressed look and only started crying after her umbilical cord was cut.

The proud mother believes that baby Isabela’s expression is a sign of her bravery, and that she has shown her personality early in life.

“It’s a meme already. She always wrinkles her forehead when changing diapers and nursing,” she said in an interview.

Isabela’s birth is supposed to happen on the 20th of February, but she was born 7 days early, a sign that the mother believes baby Isabela chose her own day to be born.
