New York City’s BLM protest took a violent turn recently, leading to cops arresting 11 people.
News sources confirmed how one of the 11 people reportedly bit off a cop’s leg too. The protest comprised of anti-police demonstrators who turned violent all of a sudden in Manhattan, as reportedly by authorities on Saturday.
Around 100 citizens gathered in Midtown to take part in the Friday night ‘Defund the Police’ demonstration, which was organized by the Black Lives Matter organization, as reported by authorities.
In total, 6 women and four men received charged for disorderly conduct. This included their attempts to block government-related administration, assault, and unlawful assembly. 10 protestors received desk appearance tickets, after which they were released.
Another protestor by the name of Angel Rivera behaved in the most aggressive and violent manner. The 19-year-old kicked one police officer in the foot while biting another on his thigh. Moreover, cops confirmed how the incident took place during the 9:15 fracas.
Therefore, Rivera received charges on two counts: 1) for resisting arrest and 2) for blocking governmental justice as well as the unlawful possession of a noxious substance.
On the other hand, some of the accused were also arrested for attacking a cameraman belonging to Daily News, confirmed reports.
They mistook the media personnel for an officer and hence began attacking him violently.Out of the blue, one protestor yelled that the cameraman was a cop and that’s when 11 others surrounded him and started beating him. They shoved him around and began using their fists alongside other objects to cause him harm.
And that’s when one member of the New York Police Department confirmed the major attack, claiming how one media personnel was brutally attacked by a mob of demonstrators.
He reportedly suffered a bloody nose but was alright after medics attended his injuries.
