The incident took place on December 24, 9 pm at Ralph Avenue, Bergen Street. NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea told the media that the suspect opened fire on the cops when he reached the victim’s house. The shot could’ve proved fatal if the cop hadn’t worn the protective vest.  The woman told police that her boyfriend is on his way to her home and is carrying a weapon. Police reached the place before the suspect, and the officers were talking to the victim when he came in, shot the cop, and fled the scene.
