People have started to debate over a picture posted on Twitter, which shows Joe and Hunter Biden in an affectionate fatherly embrace, questioning whether the display is “appropriate” or not.

John Cardillo, a Trump supporter, former NYPD officer, and radio host, tweeted a black and white photo of the father-son duo with the caption, “Does this look like an appropriate father/son interaction to you?”

While others may see the post as a straightforward query, some seemed to pick-up an implied message – that there was something unnatural about Biden’s relationship with his younger son.

Some agreed and supported Cardillo’s tweet, sharing their piece of mind and outright said how “creepy” for the Presidential candidate to kiss his son.

However, many are quick to defend the duo, with some saying that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the photo.

Others retorted with a photo of President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka, and compared the interaction between the two.

One Twitter user used Cardillo’s exact same words, but added video clip of Trump in an interview saying how he’d be interested in dating Ivanka if she’s not his daughter.

Another user replied, “Joe kissing his son is perfectly fine. However, My dad never did THIS or said he’d be dating me if I weren’t his daughter.”

One even called out Cardillo, called him “sick and sad”.

“So sad no one has every loved you like Joe Biden loves his children,” the user added.

Cardillo was quick to defend his tweet, and said, “No, male relatives don’t hug me in that creepy way to pose for pics, nor would I ever let them.”

“I’m not the sick one,“ he added.

While others dismiss the discussion as that of questioning the presidential candidate’s character, this has in fact revealed toxic ideas around masculinity and manhood in the United States, combined with a heavy dose of homophobia.
