Philadelphia Cop Run Over By A Truck During Protests After Police Fatally Shoot A Black Man


A crowd of more than 300 people marched on the streets of Philadelphia to register their protest against racial injustice.

The cops were attacked with rocks and bricks by the angry protestors. Looting at about ten different places was also reported during a violent march after the encounter of Walter Wallace.

A 56-years-old female officer got hit by a truck and was immediately taken to the hospital with a severe leg fracture. A video posted on different social media platforms shows that a police mobile was also set on fire.

On Monday afternoon, at about 4 pm,  a 27-year-old black man, Walter Wallace was shot dead.  He was fired multiple times on the chest and shoulder.

The authorities claim that he was holding a knife, which he denied to drop despite continuous yelling by the cops.  The incident was recorded on camera by a bystander. The situation intensified the feeling of ferocity among the public, particularly the black community.

The officers said Walter was aiming the weapon at them while the witnesses refused this statement. Moreover, the camera captured nothing like this in the video too.No harm was done to the surrounding people and the two officers.

The poor father, in conversation with media, said, His son got brutally fired ten times. He also revealed the fact that Wallace was struggling with mental health issues and was on medicines.

The identities of the two cops involved in the incident were kept confidential. Danielle Outlaw, the commissioner of Philadelphia police, assured that the responsible individuals would bear the consequences and she will reach the family of Wallace. She further said, the case is under investigation, and all the facts and figures will be shared soon.

Larry Krasner, the district attorney, promised to carry an unbiased investigation of the case. He also requested the witnesses to contact him.

Jamie Gauthier, a member of the city council, condemned this tragic incident. She showed her hopelessness in police and demanded to make the footage of this incident public.
