This is a tale about a young teenage boy who had to bid farewell to his body’s lower half, right after it was caught in between a terrible accident. On the 23rd, social media users witnessed a gutwrenching event that was posted on ‘LADBible.’ The main victim was Lauren Schauers whose entire lower body was crushed via a forklift, during construction work for a bridge.
Until last September, Lauren worked as an active construction worker. He lived in Great Falls Montana, USA and his current project entailed a bridge’s reconstruction.
To help make the construction work possible, Lauren had to use a mega forklift that weighed around 4 tons, just so he could move away necessary parts and other equipment.point 256 |
Unfortunately, he suddenly collided with a car coming from the opposite direction.point 71 | To avoid the damage, he tried to save himself by turning the steering wheel in the opposite direction but it resulted in him falling from one end of the bridge.point 202 | 1
The massive 4-ton forklift fell 50ft towards the ground, pinning him under the massive vehicle. While the young man tried to escape, he was unsuccessful. In the end, his lower body lay stuck under the giant machine.
Throughout the incident, Lauren was conscious the whole time. Watching his right arm crush and his lower body get worse was close to the worst feeling in the world.
Just the thought of surgery had his mind thinking in circles. Also, he heard that it was hard to live through such a major surgery. But it all worked out well in the end. The love of his girlfriend conquered all. Yes, he did lose his lower body. However, thanks to his girlfriend Sabia Reihe, the pain and suffering were bearable.
Most importantly, he plans on marrying the love of his life in July of next year. But that’s right after completing the entire rehabilitation process, with her by his side.
