While the majority of the audience’s seats were empty, limiting the viewers to about 200 only due to the pandemic, there was a question asked by a prominent journalist who simply couldn’t get over the President’s remarks on referring to the Capitol Riots as the worst attack on our democracy.

Glen Greenwald questioned the president’s claims on Wednesday night, which he believed was used as some sort of proof that he was leading the country out of a severe crisis. “What happened to the attacks that took place on 9/11, or the Pearl Harbor mayhem, or the bombings that rocked Oklahoma City? How about the sudden dismantling of civil liberties, just for the sake of the war on terror or even the cold war.

Greenwald was definitely on a roll and just wouldn’t stop. He continued asking, “or the major surveillance program that was illegally brought into effect by the NSA but was aimed at our nation’s citizens.”

In the same way, he spoke about the War on Drugs as well as Jim Crow and the mass incarceration too. The list just kept going on and on, showing the journalist’s dismay at the president’s incorrect choice of words for the attacks.

“How about we look at the assassination of JFK or the interference by the CIA in the world of domestic politics?” he added. Clearly, it was obvious that the list of worse attacks than the ones of January 6th was endless.

However, many defended the president’s words by calling the journalist’s list of events as not direct attacks that hindered the country’s democracy. But that didn’t stop Greenwald who referred to the president as an ‘unhinged drama queen script.
