Originally, the luxury bottled wine was meant for a table full of businessmen. Unfortunately, things got mixed up at the cafe, leading to luck by chance scenario. Moreover, the businessmen didn’t even realize that they were dining on wine worth $18.

The restaurant’s owner confirmed the rather bizarre scenario at Balthazar- a popular eatery in NYC. On the other hand, other sources confirmed how the managers made the efforts to pour out the luxury and pricy 1989 Bordeaux into the hands of the wrong individuals.

The budget wine, Pinot Noir, is one of the eatery’s cheapest wine. But how did the mishap actually take place is a question on everyone’s mind.

On that occasion, the restaurant’s owner confirmed how the managers poured the two wines into exactly the same decanters. And that is exactly what led to the mega confusion from the start.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure. It took place during a time when fancy upscale eateries in Manhattan sold wine worth $18 per bottle. In simple words, two very differently priced wines were switched. As a result, the managers wrongfully delivered them to opposite clients on different tables.

And just in case that drama wasn’t enough, one of the Wall Streeter who initially ordered the Bordeaux, praised the waiter on how the cheaper wine tasted ‘delectably pure.’ The news was published via a renowned wine review website and till today, people simply can’t stop giggling.

At the same time, the young lovebirds had no clue that they were consuming a rather ‘pricey’ bottle of Bordeaux. Needless to say, money simply can’t buy you any taste. And clearly, it’s the restaurant’s loss in this case.
