The Seattle State Department is reportedly losing officers at a record-breaking pace, claimed officials recently.
Until now, statistics revealed the shocking truth regarding how almost 66 officers have left already, this year. And with uncertainty and a lack of support at an all-time high, things aren’t looking too great after all.
In the past year, the statistics surmounted to about 250 officers in total with predictions claiming how the loss in manpower continues to show a rapid decline in the recent year, as mentioned by the state’s union as well as the city’s officials too.
The Seattle police department boasted of nearly 1276 members in uniform towards the end of February and while things appeared to be doing great in 2020, the same cannot be said with the statistics right now. And that’s because the staffing levels have nearly dropped by nearly 250 individuals to just 1027, according to the new figures.
“The moral just doesn’t appear to be the same anymore. And that’s because we all lack the political support that we used to possess from our election members,” mentioned Mike Solan in an interview with Fox News. Mike is the president of the state’s Police Officers Guild.
“And as we are currently seeing cops flee from this area, this is a direct result of the fact that they lack any form of political support.”
Just last week, statistics revealed how 66 officers had suddenly left the Seattle Police Department in this year only, which confirmed previous reports revealed by local news authorities.
Before the year 2020, the staffing members also showed how figures appeared to be shrinking too, although it was not taking place at any steady rate.
