On April 5th, the school sent out a letter to the pupils’ parents where they brought forward chats like these to the respective parents to bring to attention what was really going on behind the scene.

Aledo’s Independent School District called the chat the perfect example of cyberbullying, which was also racially charged too.

Following a recent protest amongst citizens, the chat has now been changed from cyberbullying to plain old racist. According to a recent report by CNN, the district confirmed how it is disciplining the students for their terrifying behavior.

However, it is still not clear as to what the term discipline meant over here and how exactly they planned on carrying out a punishment that would actually be suitable under these terms and conditions.

Other reports spoke about how the game was conducted through Snapchat via a group chat that came under the title ‘Slave Trade.’ But this wasn’t the only racist chat. Authorities confirmed how there was another chat whose name was very similar to a racial slur.
