Three Teens Arrested For ‘Coughing In Faces’ Of Elderly Couple


A gang of three teen boys has been arrested for allegedly causing a coronavirus scare after coughing in the face on an elderly couple and harassing them.

The incident took place in Hertfordshire and has taken the internet by storm after people started demanding a severe action to be taken against them.

The youngsters aged 16, 18 and 19 walked towards the elderly couple in the market town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire on Friday. After approaching the couple, the teens started coughing at them to create panic amid the coronavirus outbreak.

According to a Hertfordshire constabulary spokeswoman, one of the suspected victims, a lady in her 70s, suffered a black eye and was admitted to hospital for a check-up before discharge.

The three teens, whose names to be kept confidential, were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and criminal damage after the Government warned that walking within 6 feet of an infected person increases the chance of getting coronavirus.

Police also told the news reporters that a  man in his 30s who attempted tried to rescue the pair also suffered bruises on his neck. They further added that the teens also attacked his car.

A spokesman said,  “It has also come to our attention that there is footage circulating on social media and we would politely ask that people refrain from sharing the video for the same reasons.”
