A young toddler was recently shot dead at his own birthday party in Miami, confirmed reports.
Elijah LaFrance received bullets that instantly killed him on the spot on Saturday as he was celebrating at his own birthday party in the Golden Glades neighborhood of Miami.
In the same way, cops confirmed reports about how a 21-year-old woman was also brutally shot and injured in the incident but she is expected to survive her injuries. The shocking altercation took place at an Airbnb on northeastern 158th street, at around 8 pm in the night, confirmed authorities. Shortly after that incident, police confirmed how more shots were fired but the shooter managed to flee from the scene.
Police explained how they were made aware of the drastic nature of the incident through various calls and complaints from neighbors in the vicinity. But the main source was through their modified system that is able to detect as well as track gunshots with immediate effect.
After arriving at their residence, cops claim they found the toddler in the worst condition imaginable. He had suffered from a serious gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him to the nearby hospital, where he tragically passed away as mentioned in the recent news release of the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Meanwhile, the child’s uncle mentioned to CBS how his nephew child was so young that he couldn’t even say the terms ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ properly.
The uncle who was identified as Adrian Annestor also added how the shooter just killed the poor child.“Oh God, he is still on my mind. I recall how I was just playing with him,” he cried to the CBS Miami.
A neighbor informed NBC6 how they heard around 20 to 30 gunshots, including one that had struck his vehicle too. In addition, the neighbor spoke about how his roommate even saw the shooter and described him as a male. However, police are yet to release any news on the event as investigations continue in the tragic case.
