Social media giant Twitter has permanently suspended President Donald Trump’s account from its platform recently.
The company revealed the jaw-dropping news on Friday evening, sending shockwaves around the globe. According to a public press release statement issued by the organization, Twitter explained how it closely reviewed a series of recent Tweets made by the President.
Keeping those in mind, it mentioned how the @realDonaldTrump account and the context surrounding it just didn’t go in line with the platform’s regulations. “We have permanently suspended this account for the risk of further incitement of violence,” it mentioned.
Twitter also explained that during the recent series of horrific events that took place in the US Capitol this week, it made it very clear that additional violations of the company’s rules would lead to a permanent ban. Hence, for this reason, they had no other option left but to move forward with this course of action.
The sudden decision followed two recent tweets made by the President on Friday, which ended in becoming his last.
These particular tweets violated the organization’s policy against the glorification of violence.Keeping this in mind, they mentioned how the President’s statements could be mobilized and interpreted by all sorts of audiences.
As far as the tweets are concerned, the first one related to President Trump’s supporters. Here, he mentioned, ‘the 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a Giant voice long into the future.
’ He also added how these individuals won’t be disrespected or treated by any unfair means, in any shape or form.
On the other hand, the second Tweet had to do with the fact of how Trump never planned on attending Joe Biden’s inauguration too. “To all those who continuously ask me, I won’t be going to the inauguration on January 20th,” he exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Twitter says that announcing his plans regarding the inauguration might be viewed as a further statement of how the recent elections weren’t legitimate.
Trump’s other statement regarding American patriots included how he intends to continually support, shield as well as power those he thinks won the elections, mentioned Twitter.
Also, it should be noted that Twitter’s ban specifically addresses “the @realDonaldTrump account”, not Donald Trump personally.
