A Vogue model from Russia was recently charged for stabbing her husband to death after he brought home another woman from the bar.
Authorities in Russia charged 26-year-old Lilia Sudakova for carrying out the horrifying murder. Moreover, her term comprises of a 15-year prison sentence. The accused is guilty of using a kitchen knife to puncture wounds into her husband’s heart.
According to reports, the wild incident took place in regards to a jealous rage. Lilia’s husband, Sergey Popov, ‘flirted’ with another woman. But the drama didn’t end there. He also brought her back home with him.
Media sources alleged how Lilia was both jealous and outraged over her husband’s behavior. Therefore, she followed up the actions with a knife stabbing incident, aimed directly at Sergey’s heart.
On the contrary, the star model’s mother has another side of the story to tell. According to her, the ginger-haired model was suffering from domestic abuse for a very long time. Therefore, she acted in self-defense, resulting in the stabbing as well as Sergey’s death.
Lilia is a familiar face and name for Russian Vogue. She appeared in countless cover campaigns, featuring in a number of magazine projects for China. Japan, as well as Italy. At the same time, it’s not uncommon to find her face on countless Russian clothing brands too.
Right after the incident took place, Lilia called up an ambulance that rushed her husband to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died soon afterward.
Sudakova confessed to her husband’s killing, despite being married to him for 4 years. At the start of the investigations, reports claim that she told the cops that it was all done in jealously and rage. And that was after he flirted with another woman.
Today, the model is slapped with charges for manslaughter. Currently, she is under two-month pretrial custody. But the mother continues to defend her daughter with other stories. She goes on to claim how Sudakova’s drunk husband brought another woman home from the bar. In addition, he expected Sudakova to cook for the two of them.
She followed up her statements with Popov abusing Sudakova by pulling her hair and kicking her legs. And on that note, she ‘accidentally’ waved him away by striking him with a knife.
For her mother, Sudakova is innocent. She only acted in self-defense, as an irresistible impulse. However, she does realize that the chances of her daughter escaping or getting a minimal sentence are close to none.
