A black man and his girlfriend received bullets after cops shot rounds at them for violating traffic rules.
According to sources, the black teen died and his girlfriend was seriously injured when cops shot at them for breaking through a traffic signal. However, after realizing their mistake, they reversed back, toward a cop, who shot them both.
19-year-old Marcellis Stinnette died on the spot while his girlfriend and mother to his child are still fighting for her life at the hospital. Moreover, the incident took place during the late hours of Tuesday at Waukegan. On the other hand, the police claim that the vehicle contained his girlfriend Tafara Williams in the driving seat.
She failed to obey traffic rules and fled as a white cop approached him, just before midnight hours.Sources then confirmed how another officer spotted the same vehicle at a different location, later on.
Hence, when the second officer attempted to approach the vehicle, Willaims began reversing. And that’s why he fired in fear towards the vehicle.
The girlfriend attempted to speak from her hospital bed and that’s when she tried to explain the details of the tragic incident.
With bullet wounds in her stomach and hands, she lay in a rather helpless condition. Moreover, she kept on asking why did the officer shoot at her and her boyfriend. According to her, the couple did nothing to provoke the officers towards shooting.
‘Why did you shoot? I did nothing wrong,’ she kept questioning from her hospital bed. ‘I have a license and you never told me that I was under arrest,’ she claims. At the same time, she kept questioning why the officer decided to flame up to her car like that. ‘Why on earth did you shoot?’
Williams’ mother also went on claiming how her daughter and boyfriend were innocent. Still, the cops chose to attack them. On the other hand, Willams exclaims how she put her hands up in the air, and if she didn’t, she would probably be dead too
Today, the families of the couple are looking for justice. They want answers from the investigators, demanding the release of CCTV footage that shows what really went on that night.
