Detectives have arrested three men on murdering a seven-year-old boy who died in an arson attack after a burning package was thrown through the letterbox.
Scotland Yard has arrested 21, 22, and 24-year-old men last week on suspicion of conspiracy to murder a 7-year-old autistic boy two years ago.
The horrific incident happened two years ago when the burning package was pushed through the letterbox into the home, which resulted in the death of a 7-year-old autistic boy Joel Urhie who was living at the family home on Adolphus Street in Deptford London.
In August 2018 7-year-old kid died a horrific death after the burning package was pushed through the letterbox in a gang-related crime.
On August 7, 2018, emergency services found Joel Urhie’s body in the upstairs room, which he shares with his mother. Joel’s mother and his 19-year-old sister Sarah were managed to escape by jumping out of the window, but sadly Joel couldn’t get out of the house.
According to the post-mortem examination, Joel Urhie died because of constant fire and smoke inhalation.
According to the sources that attack must be gang-related, reports say that Joel’s 21-year-old elder brother sam may have been the target.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley, the leading investigator, says that although it’s been two years, this case is still open and active.
He stated that it is always tragic to lose such a young and innocent life, but losing a child under these circumstances is unbearable. He added, some people know what happened and who is responsible for this incident, I just want them to do the right thing, and help us get to know the truth.
On August 11, 2018, 21 and 29-year old men were arrested on the suspicion of murder and the arson, but they were released in November 2019 with no further action.
