A waitress named Gennica Cochran at the Lucia restaurant in the Carmel Valley in California ejected Michael Lofthouse, a 37-year old Silicon Valley entrepreneur for racially abusing Asian customers in the restaurant.
Lofthouse outbursts saying ‘Trump is going to f*** you’ at Jordan Chan at his family enjoying a meal at the restaurant on the Fourth of July. The waitress is applauded by many on social media and in real life.
Michael Lofthouse is a British man with a tech startup in California named Solid8. The frightening incident was recorded on the camera and uploaded on social media when Chan was celebrating a candid birthday party with his family.
The footage reached Lofthouse’s parents in Morpeth, UK within a few minutes leaving his parents disgusted. His mother said it has impacted gravely to the entire family. 67-year old Ms. Lofthouse commented while speaking to MailOnline, ‘We are completely devastated and appalled by his behavior.’
She has been titled as ‘everyday hero’ and people have been adding to her ‘Ms. Cochran’s tip jar’ making it a total of $40k until now. Meanwhile, the waitress believes she did what was needed to do.
Speaking to KGO-TV about the incident, she said something took over her as Lofthouse slurred the ugly racial remarks at her customers. She also believes she did what anyone else should have done in such a situation as she told Lofthouse ‘You do not talk to a guest like that, you need to leave now.’
It was the first time the Bernardus Lodge, Spa’s Lucia restaurant was reopened on Saturday after the deadly coronavirus spread in the Carmel Valley and Cochran did not want a fresh start to begin like this. The footage swamped the internet and people are calling her a hero for what she did.
