A 69-year-old gardener faces jail after he drowned his neighbor’s pet cat.
According to local media reports, Richard Giles grabbed a firm hold of his neighbor’s pet cat and then drowned it because he felt it kept on ruining his crops.
Investigations into the incident revealed how Giles belonged to Sherborne in Dorset. Moreover, he admitted to the gruesome act of killing the pet. But the fact that he mentioned how he was ‘driven’ towards carrying out the crime is truly something that has so many people baffled.
Reports into the case revealed how the gardener firmly grasped the cat named Ruby and then drowned it, as she made her way towards his vegetable plot again. On that note, he went ahead and callously drowned her inside the water.
Ruby’s owner explained how she spent two daunting days in search of her little furry friend. But little did she know that she would be dead. The owner named Shirley Gear-Evans explained how she confronted Giles, who never had the decency to apologize after carrying out the crime on her little beloved pet.
Giles has reportedly admitted to the charge relating to causing plenty of unnecessary suffering towards a protected animal, explained reports. He also added how Ruby the cat kept on returning back to his property and hence he felt as if she was driving him towards the crime.
On the other hand. the 65-year-old owner of Ruby couldn’t believe her neighbor’s hostile behavior, who failed to show an ounce of remorse over the shocking incident. And that has sparked great outrage amid the community.
Villagers went as far as mentioning how they were extremely sickened by the act, with plenty of others referring to Giles as a disturbed bast*rd.
Animal rights activists named PETA did their part by urging magistrates to throw the book towards him as he returns next month for his sentencing.
