A female police officer from New York City is being hailed for her wonderful rescue efforts after she was seen crying and frantically running with a young victim wounded in the recent Times Square shootings.

According to local media outlets, the stunning piece of surveillance footage was released by authorities recently, allowing viewers to applaud the woman’s swift rescue efforts that she embarked upon that day. Here, viewers get a glimpse of the hero police officer who frantically runs all through Times Square, just to make it in time for the child’s successful rescue.

The victim was identified as the youngest to be involved in the horrifying Times Square shooting that left three bystanders injured in the aftermath when a gunman opened fire on a crowd, outside a toy store on Saturday.

The mayhem continued to erupt at about 4 pm in the afternoon as bloodshed rocked all of Crossroads of the World, confirmed reports.

Many termed the emotional rescue as groundbreaking, explaining how cops risk their lives for others to ensure their safety and well-being, on a daily basis.

In the video, the cop can be seen breaking down emotionally as she discovers how the victim is so young. Moreover, the cop appears to be frantically searching for paramedics as she rushed with the wounded girl towards an ambulance, as seen in the viral footage.

Many Twitter users were quick to label the officer as a hero, as she is yet to be identified publicly, mentioned local reports.
