Jacob Blake’s father says he’s not interested in ‘playing politics.
’ The rather blunt statement comes as no surprise as the President of the United States makes his way over to Kenosha.
In light of the recent surge in violence, President Trump’s visit comes as no surprise to many. The city experienced the most escalated tensions and killings, for the past few weeks.
Blake’s father commonly referred to as Jacob Blake Sr, spoke his heart out after speculations arose regarding his meeting with the president.
Just recently, Mr.Donald Trump refused a meeting with the Blake family. And that’s because they wanted lawyers present to hear their entire conversations. Moreover, the president refused, terming it as ‘inappropriate. ’
When questioned about President Trump’s response at a recent media event, Jacob Blake Sr refused to comment.
He expressed how the entire matter wasn’t his concern anymore.And he just wasn’t into ‘playing politics. ’ Meanwhile, he did overrule the conversation by saying, ‘it’s only about my son man! It’s got nothing to do with any sort of photo op!’
He also added how it would be best to have a counsel on the phone, especially when talking to any member of the Government.
Mr. Trump arrives in Kenosha today, around 1 pm EST. Similarly, the president will shake hands with countless police officers while visiting a number of riot-hit and damaged areas, across the locality. He will also bring to light his famous ‘law and order’ message that links most of his campaigns.
The trip got the green light signal, despite warnings from Kenosha’s governor as well as mayor. According to reports, they all requested the President to reconsider his decision. Meanwhile, they expressed how such deleterious action would affect the healing process.
On the whole, large areas of the upscale neighborhoods received the most damage. These serve as residential localities for countless Blacks as well as Hispanics. Most of the homes were either burned down or damaged by the rioters as well as looters.
