Thursday brought surprising news for the Twilight star Kristen Stewart fans as the Chilean director Pablo Larrain told a news reporter about the independent film he is producing starring Stewart on Princess Diana’s life.
The movie is set to focus on her personal journey and split with Prince Charles. The storyline of ‘Spencer’ emphasizes on the three days in the 1990s, her last Christmas spent with the Royal family, when Diana was staying in Queens Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
The script of ‘Spencer’ is written by Steven Knight, the author who also wrote Peaky Blinders. While talking to ‘Deadline’, the Hollywood entertainment tabloid, the Oscar-nominated director spoke of the motive behind making this movie.
He narrated he wants to show the world the real picture of what being a princess is for it is taken as a fairy tale considering the royal life as ‘fantastic’ and the princess as someone who does what the Royal family asks her to do. However, Dianna rather decides to do what she likes to and be herself.
He further adds that the film is about the true identity of Diana and how she wanted to be the woman she was before marrying Prince Charles and what moves her to do that is a mystery for which you will have to watch the movie.
On being asked why he chose Kristen Stewart for this role, he answered ‘because she is one of the great actors around today’. He expressed his appreciation for the actor saying she is versatile as she can be strong, fragile, and mysterious all at once.
Since the script has all these elements combined in one character, it made me think of her that only she could be the perfect fit for the character. The way she is adapting to the character and approach is also beautiful. Pablo said Kristen is a force of nature as she is stunning in it.
