Pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in huge numbers in Los Angeles on Saturday, showing their immense support for Palestine amid the violence that rocked the state of Gaza and Israel in the past few days.
The giant march began around noontime, as confirmed by local authorities, where thousands gathered right outside a Federal building, located on Wilshire Boulevard. Soon, the massive gathering wound up its way towards the area streets, causing a massive blockade as traffic began to choke in different parts.
Cops were immediately called to the scene but it was reported that the incident was beyond their control. For this reason, police officers had zero choices but to close down traffic. In the same way, they went about warning drivers to look for alternative routes to their destinations.
The protesters could reportedly be heard yelling and holding signs which read, “Free Palestine” as well as “End all of the American Aid to Israel,” as mentioned in a recent report published by the Associated Press. Some of the demonstrators also began yelling, ‘Long Live Intifada.”
On the other hand, some pro-Israel counter-protesters also managed to arrive at the location, where police tried their level best to keep both of those groups apart.
But Los Angeles wasn’t the only location to play host to such demonstrations.Similar protests rocked other American cities which included Boston, Pittsburgh as well as New Orleans too, confirmed reports.
Recent videos released on social media revealed the protesters arriving in huge numbers and swarming a Highway patrol car in California, with some even going as far as kicking it too. At one point in time, the vehicle attempts to move at a quicker pace, resulting in the protesters falling off the car.
Israel and Palestine have now reached their 7th day of deadly violence, which is being termed as one of the most violent conflicts since the year 2014.
