British-Australian Model Olly Eley has debuted as fashion magazine ELLE’s first-ever non-binary and agender cover star.
In a recent interview, the star opened up about the struggles in life and finding an identity. Moreover, the model spoke about what it actually feels like to discover the ‘in-between’ location. “This came after years of me despising the body that I was born with.”
The star is agender and that means they don’t familiarize with any gender at all. “I simply did not have the language to comprehend how I felt when I was younger.”

While the model was originally born as a female, they wished they knew during their childhood that it was alright to exist in a place they call ‘in-between’.
Speaking to the fashion magazine, the star spoke about what it really felt like over the years to be unable to relate to the gender assigned at birth. “I feel like I finally existed in a world that made so much more sense to me.”
“I’ve never felt like a female, but then neither have I felt male,” they added. If there was a very thin line that connected the two different types of gender, I would certainly be that particular dot floating around somewhere between those two areas but I would not touch either of those lines.
This is probably the best way that I can describe it.”
The model went on to add how when they moved to Australia and some of its grandest cities, that is where he first heard about the pronouns they and them. “Before that, I simply didn’t have the language, neither did I have any of the role models that would actually explain how I really felt.”
“I never knew that it would actually be possible for me to control a thing like a gender.” In the same way, they spoke about why mastectomy was a decision that they refused to make and instead, opted to have their chest bound together. “I just didn’t feel comfortable doing it so I didn’t do it.”
The star will embrace the June issue for ELLE UK which is all set to hit the stands from the 6th of this month.
