A mother left other parents enraged after candidly confessing that she hates playing with her daughter.
Lynn Marie posted a video on TikTok and captioned it: “Parenting is hard, even when it’s easy. The little things really are the big things. Who knew?!”
In the clip, Lynn explained that her only child often asked her to play Barbies with her, something that she hates doing.
“Last night my daughter asked me to play with her, and I hate doing that,” Lynn said in the video. “I’ll go for a walk, I’ll take you somewhere, but I don’t want to play with your Barbies.”
The mother admitted that she felt bad because her daughter is an ‘only child’, so she half-heartedly played with her for ten minutes.
“This morning she got up and got ready for school, super good mood, and then she said will you play barbies with me,” Lynn continued.
“Then she said ‘I had so much fun when you played Barbies with me yesterday’ and it about broke my heart because if my half-hearted attempt to play with her meant that much, I could definitely do that again.”
Lynn’s confession made many people angry with some asking why she did have a kid in the first place.
“I am not a parent, so I apologize for my ignorance, but why would you have a child if you didn’t want to be there for them?” a user commented.
“You’re seriously complaining about playing Barbies for 10 min?” another person said.
Another woman commented on Lynn’s post said that it made her “so angry” and was completely shocked by her confession.
Other people who grew up as an only child joined in and said that life without siblings is “very lonely”, so they encouraged Lynn and other parents to spend time with their child.
While Lynn’s video left many people fuming, others thanked her for telling the truth, claiming that they also feel the same way.
