Whereas today’s America finds it hard to make this deadly virus bite the dust, Oprah decided to contribute to this nation-wide battle against the pandemic. In this knee-deep crisis, so many people have been deprived of their wages and are nearly unable to get access to basic things like food.

Oprah, 66, decided to donate $10 million to an organization called America’s food fund. She’s been really discreet about why she’s doing this. According to her, it’s her way of returning the favor to the country that gave her everything she could ever ask for. 

A few days ago, she took to her Twitter account and shared the news with everyone. She didn’t forget to mention some specific areas of the country she grew up in. Not only she shared her endeavor full of compassion, but she also encouraged others to contribute to the fund and amass money for those in need.

Oprah Winfrey has been an extremely empathetic and a dyed-in-the-wool philanthropist since the beginning, and through these gestures, she keeps reaffirming that her celebrity-status hasn’t changed her at all. She is one of her own kind and will always be so.
