Coronavirus and its vast transmission does not seem to be stopping anywhere.
Many people have fallen victim to its wrath in little to no time. The surprising thing is, no one is an anomaly amongst the masses, everyone seems to be equally exposed to the risk of getting infected.
It looks like even the important people who make decisions on behalf of ordinary masses cannot keep themselves from this deadly pandemic. After Boris Johnson, Russia’s Premier has also been tested positive and taken away to self-isolate.
Mikhail Mishustin has recently disclosed his health condition to the president of Russia, Putin, and he did this in a videoconference where the entire cabinet were all ears. He has also suggested a name for his replacement, probably an interim prime minister who is going to take care of his responsibilities.
Andrey Belousov is going to take the charge until Mikhail returns after getting cured. He is going to deputize the current prime minister of Russia. Not to undermine the fact that Russia has a president to whom the prime minister reports, so the highest political leadership of Russia is still safe.
Mikhail Mishustin had developed a number of symptoms and hence he had to be immediately quarantined. He couldn’t be left on his own after the symptoms he started manifesting. The moment he got tested, he had no clue it would turn out positive.
He had lukewarm symptoms and that’s why he could not deduce he’s a COVID-19 positive. His condition was not deplorable as he was good enough to interact with his colleagues and Mr. President via a video call. Let’s expect, he too fully recovers and gets back behind the desk like Boris Johnson.
As for now, it will be Belousov to take charge of the things that come under the umbrella of a Russian prime minister. He will be dealing with all the important things at Moscow’s White House.
