An 18-year-old boy who recently pleaded guilty to kicking a pensioner into the river boldly admitted his assault crime in court while telling press reporters, ‘you will see me do my time’.
According to local media outlets, Benjamin Bridgeman kicked a 74-year-old man while he was fishing in River Mersey, showed a shocking video released by officials recently. On that note, the teen pleaded guilty and was given his punishment. Morover, the teen displayed arrogance while admitting his mistake in front of the jury recently.
But what really raised eyebrows is how he spoke to reporters after receiving his punishment. “You will surely see me do my time,” he revealed. In addition, he talked about how he deserved his punishment for taking part in the horrifying crime.
After the incident went viral, it sparked a national uproar in the United Kingdom as many were disgusted by his behavior and treatment of the elderly members of society in Warrington. The incident is reported to have taken place last month.
While the victim’s identity was not revealed, reports claim that he was struggling for his life in the water after Benjamin pushed him inside the water. Shockingly, the teen failed to help and instead chose to run off with his friends, laughing at the incident.
The elderly fisherman had to be rescued by a long chain made by schoolgirls that assisted him in coming out of the depth of the water.
“Obviously I am very sorry about the incident that took place. I made a mistake and now all I can really do is move forward. After all, everyone makes mistakes in life. But for me, that’s the honest truth that comes straight from the bottom of my heart. But I know I will be home soon.”
The elderly man just stood on the banks, minding his own business, and began fishing. And that’s when the teen just came around the corner at about 2 pm in the afternoon and kicked him inside, explained police authorities.
