A woman was gang-raped by 4 migrants from North Africa on the Gran Canaria, right after she stopped to ask about their plight.
According to local media reports, the four suspects had recently arrived on the Spanish holiday island, near the Maghreb region. Currently, they are under police custody as they were arrested in relation to the alleged attack on the 36-year-old.
Reports from El Periodico confirmed how the woman was believed to have started talking with the group of migrants as she walked through Agua La Perra. This is a park situated in the region of Mogan. Moreover, reports then confirmed how she rushed to a nearby doctor after the horrifying incident on her own.
The case was taken up by Spain’s Civil Guard who immediately began an investigation relating to the matter. Soon, the 4 men were arrested and are reportedly said to belong between the age groups of 18 and 35. Their arrests took place 3 days after the alleged gang rape incident.
Meanwhile, reports confirmed how the alleged victim was living on the Canary Islands, while the other suspects are believed to have arrived at the destination via a boat.
Moreover, media reports described the shocking incident involving the alleged victim in detail, stating how she was most likely an expat from Ireland or one hailing from the Nordic country. Local media outlets went on to add how the migrants were given accommodation by the government and were managed by the Red Cross. However, they were soon kicked out for breaking a series of rules.
Hence, they reportedly set up a camp in the park, where the woman was brutally attacked. She had only stopped by to inquire about their current status, but little did she know about being attacked. As the woman asked if she could somehow help them with anything, they assaulted her in a matter of seconds.
The victim’s medical reports showed several major injuries, which were soon handed over to the cops.
